Hey ya'll! I'm a crappy blogger, but for some reason I keep coming back to this little 'ol place...and I still have random people reading!
I love my husband Nick, and our daughter Ava. I've been married to Nick for almost five years, we were wed in July 2007. Our precious baby girl came into the world in February of 2009. She is the light of my life. Of our life. Nothing can compare to the love we have for our daughter. She tests my patience and pushes the limits pretty much every day, but hey, that's what little girls are all about, right!? :)
I recenty fulfilled my dream of going back to school to become an elementary teacher. I graduated in May 2011 with a Master of Arts in Teaching. It's been a long, tiring, frustrating road, but it was so worth it when I finally graduated! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies, which I attained from my alma mater, Eastern Kentucky University. While there, I was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and also Student Alumni Ambassadors.
Last, but definitely not least, I'm also a child of God. It's a constantly evolving relationship, one I try to work on every day...I don't know where I would be today with out my faith in God. I believe it's the most central part of my life. I am trying to focus more on God than on me, me, me. I know my grade in this area would be a big fat 'F,' but at least I'm working on it! I believe the payout will be more than worth it in the end. ;)
I love a good cry, anything purple, anything written by Nicholas Sparks, and anything that's made of pretty paper. Nick has to pull me out of the school supply aisle so I don't buy anymore pens, Sharpies, or Post-Its! It's an addiction...My nighstand alone probably has at least 5 different journals/notebooks...it's insanity. It's also a great joy of mine at the beginning of each new year to buy a pretty new planner! I love to be organized, especially since life is so chaotic now! I love "going antiquing," looking for vintage jewelry, handbags, etc. In the spring and summer, there is nothing I love more than a stem of fresh hydrangea! They are absolutely my most favorite flower...love them!
I just try to live in this huge 'ol world and try to set a good example for my daughter and for the students in my classroom where I am student teaching currently. Life is all about balance...and for me, finding peace is a main part of finding balance. Between family, friends, and career...it's an ever evolving thing.
And that about wraps me up! :)
